10TH ANNUAL FESTIVITIES UPCOMING FOR YOUNG WRITERS
Judges Among 10 Poets & Writers March 10
At Fiddleheads Market, Litchfield, CT
2-15-07
Dear folks,
Judging will begin soon for our 10th annual competition.
Many thanks to all who have helped us grow, sustain and affirm young
writers.
As many know, the IMPAC-Connecticut State University Young Writers
Trust has given more than $135,000 to Connecticut's best young writers.
About 4,000 youngsters have competed in our program.
We plan to distribute $16,000 in the coming months and send a young
poet, writer and parents to Dublin.
This spring, we will honor county finalists during ceremonies at the
four CSU campuses in Danbury, New Britain, New Haven and Willimantic. Our
annual dinner will be scheduled in early June. Watch for announcements
on all these events.
Meanwhile, we are putting together the annual program. We hope you can
join us at any and all of these events. Some parents and teachers are
helping us track down county and state winners during the past 10 years.
A list of these winners is posted at www.ctyoungwriters.org under the
In The News Section, Nov. 10, 2006. If you recognize or know anyone on
the list, please reach out to them on our behalf.
Thanks to the wisdom and generosity of our sponsors, we have been able
to maintain this program.
A business card ad in our program is still $250. Please make checks out
to: IMPAC-CSU Young Writers, 231 Beach St., Litchfield, CT 06759.
New and updated business cards can be sent to: Max, The Business
Center, 32 Village Green, Litchfield, CT 06759.
