Dipace? Long live the GOP in Enfield! Will his campaign team be Tallarita, Crowley, and Weseliza? We ain't exactly talkin' the dream team here.
As for Peruta? Who cares. I hear he's done as a dem. They story inside is Tally-rita and Freddy-rick are backing Dipace and hate Peruta for telling the neighbors about their Simon Road development. Can you say revenge? They can. This is better than reality TV.

It's a choice between the devil you can trust or the devil you can't.
Many people trust DiPace more than they trust Peruta.
Peruta is a snake. Brian Peruta's political agenda is the advancement of Brian Peruta. He'll put himself before the party.
He also has some serious credibility problems. This is where the talk of switching sides and the blogosphere shenanigans are gonna come back to bite him in the ass.
As well, Peruta has said some really stupid stuff.
This is the guy who said that it's more important for the ETA get raises than for kids to have paper.
It makes me wonder whether he's got his head screwed on right.
"Brian Peruta's political agenda is the advancement of Brian Peruta. He'll put himself before the party."
and how is that any different than many others in the Democratic party?
"it's a choice between the devil you can trust or the devil you can't."
some choice, huh? isn't it pretty pathetic for Enfield Democrats when their two choices are both described as "devils"? the Dems are just makin' it easier and easier for Republicans to enjoy a long tenure in office.
>>It's a choice between the devil you can trust
talk about hogwash. who would be
stupid enough to trust any kind of devil?
Enfield Democrats need to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better slate, minus their "devils".
not sure where DiPace stands, but here's Brian Peruta's JI letter-to-editor,

"Message is clear for Enfield BOE
To Enfield's Board of Education:
I hope you're paying attention. You've heard loud and clear from your constituents on several occasions what your mission is this year, "Do what you by vote were entrusted to do and put our school system and children in a position to succeed."
Our children and Enfield's future really do depend on you actions. You see the investment you make today pays off down the road when our children are educated and responsible taxpaying members of our community. Mistakes now will only multiply costs for Enfield later. Don't be shortsighted.
In years past we've been disappointed to see 100 or fewer residents attend the yearly budget public hearing. This year nearly 200 people attended a Community Conversation! Almost 180 people attended the regular Board meeting this week! Your constituents are motivated. Their message is clear and they're demanding action. If you have any doubt about what's expected by the people who put you in office, then you haven't been listening.
To those in the Republican majority on the Board:
The treatment teachers received in the press from those representing your town committee is an embarrassment. Opinions are great and debate is welcomed. But what we saw in the papers was terrible and insulting. Take responsibility here and make it stop. It does no one any good.
Last night several of you made it plain that there was a clear delineation between you and those on your own town committee who seem intent on driving wedges between you and the people you need most to make this process work. Stand behind your statements and stop this counterproductive behavior. This is from your committee and you're more together than I'm led to believe.
Last, I would like to request that the Board of Education start regularly attending Town Council meetings and during public communications share what they're hearing and doing. I've seen Councilman Kiner at several Board meetings. Clearly he's engaged and concerned. More need to see what he's seeing. Personally I think public updates at each Council meeting will make this entire process more transparent. As a former councilman, I wish we took this approach years ago.
Good luck and Godspeed.
Brian Peruta

Score! Flushed out from the shadows is one of the principals in this worthless controvery. We talk about local government officials lurking in the blogs. Now we know who else lurks with them.
very interesting letter Peruta wrote. no sure ya noticed but that particular edition of JI's letter-to-editor section, also contained a letter from an Enfield teacher. part of it read:
"This is a national problem, not an Enfield problem. Everyone demands the highest quality in their educational system, but they can't afford its costs. If you continue to make the teachers feel unappreciated and under compensated, the younger ones will leave. And then who will educate your children?"
Most residents doubt very much that the younger Enfield teachers will leave Enfield, since they're earning a higher salary than they would in most other area towns. so where is it they would go to? again, some seem to forgot that on the average, CT teachers make more than any other state. and Enfield teachers make more than most surrounding towns. so why then would the younger Enfield teachers leave?
what the younger teachers might wish to occur is that some of the older teachers, who make way more $$ than them, retire or leave. that would leave more $$ for supplies, maintenance, etc.
but again, none of these Enfield teachers are gonna pack their bags and leave voluntarily because they're making great money in Enfield. that's the bottom line.
these folks need to remember, the grass is NOT always greener teaching at another town.
""Personally I think public updates at each Council meeting will make this entire process more transparent. As a former councilman, I wish we took this approach years ago.""
Mr Peruta is indeed a "former councilman". So perhaps he should concentrate more on why it is he lost in the last election, and spare those who won in Nov, from his suggestions.
>>We talk about local government officials lurking in the blogs.
of course they lurk here. cuz this is the place to go to learn what Enfield residents are really feeling about their town.
*It's a choice between the devil you can trust or the devil you can't.*
The expression is "It's a choice between the devil you know and the devil you don't" and it refers to making a difficult choice between 2 options. Literary genius you ain't.

I don't know who's initially responsible for this "devil phrasing", but I for one wouldn't vote for either DiPace or Peruta. And the fact that they're both being described as "devils" means the Enfield Democrats must be scraping the bottom of the political barrel.
is "this" is the best they have to offer the residents of Enfield? if so, gawd help the good people of Enfield!
The Republicans have Ms. Turner and the Democrats deserve Mr. Dipace. The only thing more motivating for Ms. Turner would be to have Mr. Tallarita as Democrat chair. But since he can't have #1, she can have #2.
How about dem Giants!

heck with all their lurking. start doing something about what's happening in Enfield. just looked @ the Sunday Courant "Home" section, and 3 more Enfield homes are up for foreclosure. at this rate, they won't have to worry about teacher salaries cuz there won't be as many people in town (or owning property to gain tax $$$s from).
when the residents are carrying the brunt of the Enfield's tax burden, every foreclosure spells "t-r-o-u-b-l-e".
