Linda McMahon, the former chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., said Wednesday she’s prepared to spend tens of millions of dollars more from her personal fortune to win election to the U.S. Senate, and that she would force a primary election should she fail to secure the Republican nomination at the party’s convention in May.
McMahon, however, also said that should she lose in a primary, she wouldn’t run as an independent petitioning candidate, as U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman did after losing the Democratic primary four years ago.
“I want to send a Republican senator from Connecticut to Washington with the election this coming November,” she said.
