The CT Young Writers Trust presents A Celebration Of Springtime & The Arts, Sunday, March 13, 2011, featuring poets, writers and live music at three locations in Litchfield.
The event -- also known as Dionysiac Deadline Demo -- highlights the March 15, 2011 postmark deadline for the 14th annual Connecticut Young Writers Competition.
FIRST STOP: Hair Cuts Etc., 457 Bantam Road [Route 202], Litchfield. Parking lot is across the street from State Police Troop L, Litchfield.
Following the reading at the barber shop, the festivities will proceed by 3 p.m. about 50 yards west to the Litchfield Car Wash, 475 Bantam Road. The crowd will be led by two musicians.
At 4 p.m. the event moves to Frank Rosa's La Cupola Ristorante &Inn, 637 Bantam Road. Limo service will be available to La Cupola from Hairucts, Etc. or the car wash courtesy of Bohemian Pizza.
Poets and writers performing will include Lisa Taylor, Iceman John Scully, Norm Pattis, Ken McManus, Sheldon Gaskell and Ravi Shankar. Reception entertainment at La Cupola by the Jen Allen Combo with Cosmic Jibaros leader and guitarist Ricardo Reyes sitting in; lead vocalist, DominiQue.
There is no admission charge for the event, but donations will be accepted by the CT Young Writers Trust, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charity.
