    As author of "Presidential Puppetry," I'm thrilled and grateful for the kind words of reviewer Andy Thibault, a dedicated fighter for justice.

    He has the rare ability to recall vividly how things were -- with the even more important mission of visualizing how things should be.

    That pattern reminds me so much of his part of Connecticut, a tradition-steeped region where communities fought as early as the Revolutionary era to create enduring institutions that are now threatened, as elsewhere.

The book is 500 pages (covering more than a century of history through important news occurring until mid-October of this fall. It's just 350 pages of text. Most of the rest of it is comprised of endnotes and other further reading for those inspired for further study.

    Because the goal is help those who want to understand the news and not just watch it, I'm trying to arrange also a talk sometime soon in or near Litchfield to discuss these revelations and to brainstorm on reforms.
