    Re; comment 1 posted below:

The Enfield Planning and Zoning Commission and the Enfield Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency do not hold any meetings in August.

The last P&Z meeting date before August is July 26, 2007

The last IW&WA meeting date before August is July 24, 2007

The first P&Z meeting after August is September 6, 2007
The first IW&WA meeting after August is September 4, 2007

Currently, P&Z hearings are being scheduled for July 12, 2007.

Because of legal notice requirements, we will be unable to schedule any P&Z hearings for applications received after June 20th until September 6, 2007 or later.

IW&WA applications requiring hearings received after July 9 will not be able to be heard until September 4, 2007.

If you are considering an application that may require a public hearing and is time sensitive you are strongly advised to get the complete application in as soon as possible. Hearings are generally scheduled on a first come first heard basis.

Submitting incomplete applications will not result in any time benefits since the commission will reject any application that does not meet its requirements.

The Enfield Planning Department staff thanks you in advance for your cooperation.

Please call 860-253-6355 if you have any questions.

The story is that Big Anthony Troiano has fallen back on Plan B. Rumor has it that he's offered to buy out neighbors on Yale Drive. Supposedly, he want to demolish everything and use the land to get a right of way onto the Ridgewood Homes property south of the brook, so that he can build even more McMansions.

I'm told that he's offered the homeowners big bucks for the property because he wants to move fast. Troiano may be shady, but the man knows who his allies are and how to count votes. He knows that if DiPace can't ram the project through P&Z before the election, the entire thing is toast. If this project isn't in the bag soon, he'll have to walk away from it. Given how the P&Z folks shut down for the summer (http://www.enfield-ct.gov/controls/eventview.aspx?MODE=SINGLE&ID=709), it's all the more urgent for him.

Troiano can tell which way the winds are blowing. Everyone knows that the republicans are gonna retake the Council and the Board of Ed this year. When the reps take the Council, the dems lose control of P&Z. Since the reps will be propelled to power by outcry over Montessori lawsuits and tax increases, you can bet that they won't be giving Troiano the special favors he got from Tallarita and the dems. All of Troiano's political friends from Mt. Carmel are dems, so if they lose, he's in trouble

Ah, yes, we can only hope the good people of Enfield come to their senses in November after the "Spend-ocrats" brief rein of "terror" on hard working taxpayers. Their "good old boys" mentality has to end before the town is nothing more than ghost town.

Maybe their Mt Carmel club can operate "this" way, but not a town government. Enfield's local government has become a joke.
