"This is not something that is coming out of the blue," said Tallarita

Yeah, right. Who's he trying to fool. After the Shaw's incident, he had little choice but to step aside. He's an embarassment. Its just too bad he won't step down now.

I can't imagine what "higher office" he could be qualified for. Maybe he waited to see how Santopietro "fared"and figured there's still a chance he too can have a political career despite
his unprofessional actions.

Its so hard to believe that voters could be fooled so long by such.

He ain't no Kissel. Kissel is a class act, and people appreciate that. Plus, after what's happened during his lil'power trip, it should be hardfor him to be elected dog catcher.

Let's hope that Enfield, as well as
rest of CT have seen the last of this character in any public office.

Maybe his sister will also be bounced since her challengers tend to have far more experience. She runs on the name. Which is worth exactly what now?

What's he waiting for? Why not step down now as mayor. The town and his family would certainly be better off without any more of these embarrassing distractions. Don't let the door hit
ya!

That's been the problem from day one of this current administration. It was run by her "guys" like a social club. Perhaps Mangini will do the townand her party a favor and elect not run again. Its time for a clean sweep. And shame on this current council for not putting a halt to things sooner. Many of them saw things, but didn't speak out sooner. The BOE has more guts than many on the council.

Hey, maybe now is the perfect time for the residents of Enfield to ask oneof The Felician sister to run in Tallarita's place. Heaven knows
the sisters would bring back some integrity to the Enfield Council. Wouldn't that be a feather in their
habits. Mayor Sister! They'd certainly get my vote.

Boy, it certainly sounds like Mancuso has himself one great attorney. I
wouldn't want to face this guy in a courtroom.

Doesn't make any difference if this lasted 30 seconds or 30 minutes. If the mayor approached Mancuso, and the mayor made an obscene gesture, itscertainly sounds like the mayor was the provoker. How stupid could one be to act like this in a public supermarket. You'd think he'd be smart enough not to confront someone in a public setting. But I quess this proves he's not.

From Connecticut Local Politics

Patrick Tallarita — the Enfield mayor and state Labor Department official who is among the subjects of a political corruption investigation by the Chief State’s Attorney — went on a checkout-line rampage at Shaw’s Supermarket Memorial Day, threatening a witness and scaring young children as he screamed and made an obscene gesture ...
"He could always find work
as an enforcer for DeLuca."

I don’t understand… why would the Dems in that district support Tallerita running in the first place at this point? He isn’t fit to be the mayor of Enfield, but the Democratic constituency would get behind his run for Senate…seems unlikely. If there was any kind of primary he would go down.

That doesn’t even address the issue of a Democrat beating Kissel, who has been pretty strong. I think if a Dem is going to have any shot against Kissel it will need to be someone without this type of scandal on their record. My pick would be a local business or community leader unconnected to these recent shenannigans.

"Mayor Cocoa Puffs To Courant"
Good one, but sounds more to me like the Enfield Mayor "Snap, Crackle and Popped" at the local market on a holiday. Don't ya wish this conversation was all captured for YouTube. Didn't anyone have a cellphone camera to catch this incident. Or were they too afraid?

Or maybe the ol'mayor sees himself as
"Captain Crunch".
