Reader Praises Enfield P&Z

KUDOS TO THE MEMBERS OF THE ENFIELD P &Z COMMISSION FOR WITHDRAWING FROM THEIR INTENTION TO PLACE A MORITORIUM ON SENIOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS. AND SPECIAL KUDOS TO ALL THE CITIZEN'S OF ENFIELD WHO SAW THE PROPOSED MORITORIUM FOR WHAT IS WAS, A SHAM!! AND TOOK ACTION ON THE COOL JUSTICE WEBSITE.

A SPECIAL THANKS TO ANDY FOR CREATING AND MAINTAINING THIS BLOG!

THESE COMMISSION MEMBERS WERE SINGING A DIFFERENT TUNE ON 9/6. AND THAT'S BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THE "EYES" OF THE CITIZENS OF ENFIELD WERE ON THEM. WE WERE NOT GOING TO JUST SIT BY QUITELY WHILE THEY WORKED THEIR "RELIGION" FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE "INSIDERS".

THE RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A SUB-COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE MATTER AND TO REPORT BACK TO THE COMMISSION IS A REASONABLE AND FAIR APPROACH. THAT IS IF THOSE APPOINTED ARE NOT A PROXY FOR THE "INSIDERS".

LET'S FOLLOW THIS CLOSELY AND REMEMBER THAT YOUR OPINIONS AND INPUT ON THIS BLOG DO COUNT!

    You are right on!!! This time, the SHAM was exposed while in the making. The Citizen's were paying attention and became the voice to demand fairness!

    I too want to express my thanks to Andy. There is no other medium that I know of that provides Citizen's with a tool to let politician's know that there is oversight and that they can't just have a free hand to work for the benefit of "Insiders".

    The joke is on us. Now any Tom, Dick, and Harry developer can come forth unabated with their own senior development plans. The subcommittee bought them time to get their plans. The insiders just won again. Ugh!.

    The previous writer is obviously an insider or a member of the gestopo.

    Let's see...I'll buy a piece of land...just any piece of land...and get it approved for a senior development and get rich!

    First, one needs to find a piece of land in an appropriate zone. And with today's land prices, pay a dear price. Then, spend months and thousands of dollars paying professionals (engineers, surveyors, other experts) to prepare plans and an application for first, Conservation and then P & Z. With no guaranties that your plan will be approved. And if you don't get approved, you end of with trophy receipts for all the bills you paid and a piece of land that's you own and have the privilege of paying taxes on but is worth nothing.

    And if you get approved, you may get lucky and hit the market right and sell your property. Or, maybe the market turns and you get stuck with your property and have the privilege of paying taxes.

    So see Dick how smart you are...So now do you think that every Tom, Dick, and Harry developer will come forward unabated?
