What's Going Down In Enfield?

Buffalo Springfield Version

Not necessarily the news,
but you might get the idea
to keep your ear to the ground ....

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Good question, what the heck is "going on" in Enfield, CT?

If anyone believes the Hartford Courant's "take" (see http://www.courant.com/news/opinion/editorials/hc-endorseenfield.artoct23,0,322439.story), one would believe its a lack of experience among the public officials.

That's a crock. Mayor Cocoa Puff isn't a newcomer. Nor is Hilinski,
Egan, or Mangini. Or Kaupin, for that matter. So please, please, please don't blame their inability "to do anything" on their inexperience. Hopefully Enfield voters aren't that stupid to believe such bologna.

The Town Council let one of the best Town Managers in CT, "resign", and Manchester quickly scooped him yet. Enfield replaced him with someone who didn't have 1/2 the experience and who didn't pay the taxes on his previous home (out of state).

See a pattern here? Chase away the bright individuals, and replace with those who won't buck the Democratic majority.

Now I see Enfield's long time Finance Manager just elected to take a similar job in Somers. Great, anyone "escapes" the Enfield madness.

When will the madness end? When the Republicans take back the majority.

Cocco Puffs is out of town in New Orleans- for what only he knows. I heard he was told to keep a low profile. Be back the day before the election. Cocco's mother has been calling people asking them to vote against the party. Looks like the Tallarita's have turned on the party. One would guess this might hurt them politically.

At his age, he still lets his Mommy do his political biddin'. Unreal.

The only reason the Tats are asking folks to vote against their party is that they're mad the Democrats have finally turned on them. But who could blame the Dems. Who wants to have Mayor Cocoa as a ball & chain around your political ankle.

I'm voting for Enfield's Republican this year - regardless of what Mama Cocoa Puff wants. Has nothin' to do with her, trust me!

The qualify of Dem BOE candidates, that's for sure. Why would I be interested in voting for someone who has a restraining order on him because he can't get along with his own family members.

How desperate the Enfield Dems must be (also running a council member's daughter, and a good friend of Mayor Cocoa)

Check out JI's article on this Enfield Democrat. What a role model he is for BOE. Vote Republican.

As the JI article points out, CT is one of most indebted states, and that's thanks to towns like Enfield, who are now looking for State support to help them out financially.

Enfield residents better plan to hold some bake sales or cash in their empty soda and beer cans, because I don't think the State is gonna give you $3.3 million for one high school's football field.

    >> While state lawmakers have been issuing plenty of news releases this week hailing the funding they've reportedly "secured" in the bond package, most are telling municipal officials that the money is far from a sure thing.

Nothing goes "down" in Enfield, only "up", as in real estate taxes. Enfield voters need to remember Tuesday that although the Enfield "Spend-o-crats" will take credit for the recent mil rate drop, no one pays their tax bill in "mils". We pay bills in dollars, and the last time I looked even this drop in the mil rate, resulted in a hefty increase in Enfield real estate taxes.

So don't be fooled by their poppycock, nonsense babble. The Enfield Dems have put most Enfield households behind the 8 ball. Your current taxes are sky high on a home that isn't worth what it was 2 years ago. Don't be fooled by voting them in power again. The last 6 years has been torment enough on our bank accounts.

    Vote Republican for Enfield
