Kids have a lot more energy than most of us, and when it comes to payback, well, let's say you can't keep your eye on them all the time.
My dad likes to tell the story of a teacher who was an incredible hard ass,not only strict, but unfair, with his students. One morning, he drove his new truck to work. When he drove it home, it had new scratches on the sides.
My favorite payback story goes back decades to a local high school. Two teachers were carrying on a torrid, broom closet-type affair. One day a mild-mannered kid walked in on them inflagrante in a storage room between their classrooms. They threatened the kid with all kinds of sanctions including graduation. The kid stayed quiet, until he graduated later that year.
As a school administrator or teacher, you gotta know when to push, when to pull, and when to leave well enough alone. To her chagrin, Lewis S. Mills principal Karissa Niehoff and Region 10 Superintendent unfortunately didn't know.
