It occurs to me that the school administrators actions are the true cause of this 'disruption' in this case in that their actions, while adhering to the letter of the law as they interpreted it to be, have directly resulted in this controversy. In addition to the expenditure of valuable public resources in short supply, prosecution of this case, in could be argued, has not only irreparably harmed the reputation of the school system it has diverted the attention from the declared prime mission of the local school system, and harmed others by diverting public dollars from all students, including students who may be economically disadvantaged as well as all other employees covered by union contracts. The administration's employees are exploiting the public funding of their legal defense to prolong their false argument- at the educational system's expense. If they lose in court it is the public who loses; if they win, the public also loses. Change the law so that school administrators have some skin in the game. Put their pension on the line.
