Has anyone noticed the pattern in Enfield? Good people were forced out so that political cronies could be put in place.

The new town manager is no Scott Shanley (Enfield's loss, was Manchester's gain). Then the old police chief was the next to retire. The Town Attorney has held multiple jobs since Democrats took over (including "acting manager" at $1000 a week).

The town offices are now filled with "bobble heads". The voters need to wake up and vote this bunch out in Nov. or the town will be ruined forever. Its already a joke.

Are you implying that Enfield's "finest" paid a visit to that Shaw's Memorial Day evening to get "something" for his friend? But that he was there merely acting as a private citizen - not as the town's chief of police?

What did he want? Was it the surveillance tape? So he could bring it back to his good buddy before the outdoor movie started?
What private citizen would go into a supermarket and asked for their surveillance tape?

What kind of town is Enfield - it sounds pretty sleazy? I feel really bad for the folks working in this Shaw's. They don't need this kind of drama (mayor acting out in check-out line) or this pressure (from a private citizen who also happens to be the police chief).

Remind me never to shop there.

Yeah those were the good old days, weren't they- "All-American City"?

We'll never get that again if the dems keep going. Their motto is "Subdivision City: Not a farm or piece of wetlands undeveloped. With the right incentives (wink, wink) and an easement, the trees on your wetlands can start growing dollar bills, too."

You wonder why you have all these wild animals wandering all over the place like the bear in West Hartford. It's because we're kicking them out of their habitats to build more subdivisions. The same with the farms. We're losing our history like no tomorrow.

The American dream of owning your home has morphed into a dream of owning a McMansion on multiple acres of land. What schmucks! Look at the stuff being put up on "Meetinghouse Lane". (What a snotty name!) They tore down a house and built a road to make a subdivision behind them.

Meanwhile, my grandkids can't afford to live anywhere in Enfield, except for the crack houses on Pleasant Street. Get this- to rent a 1 bedroom apartment at Bigelow is $900 a month! That's as much as some folks' mortgage. And yet it's across the street from a bunch of run-down crack houses.

This is a comment to the person that wanted the Enfield Police to take extra notice of the Montessori neighborhood, and the Question about the police trying to get info from Shaws. Well, I think Tallarita was under close surveillance by the chief of police since he and his family were over the Tallarita's house for out side "movie night". Tallarita does this for his dear close friends and family so we can only hope none of the kids got alcohol but I think we can be only hope the cheif would be watching out for Enfield????

Sounds like the pressure is getting to be too much for the ol'mayor to copewith. He obviously can't take the heat of an investigation. Its probably hotter than that Bernie's stainless steel oven in his kitchen that he bragged about!

Rowland was brought down over new
cabinets and it looks like Pat will
"go" by way of mistreating nuns and some new applicances.

Ah, yes, we can only hope the good people of Enfield come to their senses in November after the "Spend-ocrats" brief rein of "terror" on hard working taxpayers. Their "good old boys" mentality has to end before the town is nothing more than ghost town.

Maybe their Mt Carmel club can operate "this" way, but not a town government. Enfield's local government has become a joke.

Enfield needs to clean house re: their choices in politicans. Time to getrid of these "boys" who have run down the town, while running up the taxes. They've treated the last few years like this was some kind of private club.

"Out" with the mayor's cronies. "Out" with his lackeys. Heck, maybe the mayor will even opt to move from Enfield. And take his sister with him.

Enfield was once labeled an "American City", but now its a joke for permitting its town officials to bully the nuns.

The man is a bully. One only has to attend a town meeting, or watch a town meeting on the close circuit to see that his behavior as mayor is often far from acceptable.

He has laughed at residents who speak out at town council meetings. He has been rude to others. He doesn't like people to disagree with his "visions" (which
are generally self-serving).

Whatever his reasons, the man needs to step down, and go away. Far away from Enfield before more damage is done.

Hopefully Rep Courtney realizes that he needs to distance himself from the Enfield mayor and his inappropriate behavior. He's a disgrace and can only hurt Courtney's future.

The story is that Big Anthony Troiano has fallen back on Plan B. Rumor hasit that he's offered to buy out neighbors on Yale Drive. Supposedly, he want to demolish everything and use the land to get a right of way onto the Ridgewood Homes property south of the brook, so that he can build even more McMansions.

I'm told that he's offered the homeowners big bucks for the property because he wants to move fast. Troiano may be shady, but the man knows who his allies are and how to count votes. He knows that if DiPace can't ram the project through P&Z before the election, the entire thing is toast. If this project isn't in the bag soon, he'll have to walk away from it. Given how the P&Z folks shut down for the summer (http://www.enfield-ct.gov/controls/eventview.aspx?MODE=SINGLE&ID=709), it's all the more urgent for him.

Troiano can tell which way the winds are blowing. Everyone knows that the republicans are gonn are take the Council and the Board of Ed this year. When the reps take the Council, the dems lose control of P&Z. Since the reps will be propelled to power by outcry over Montessori lawsuits and tax increases, you can bet that they won't be giving Troiano the special favors he got from Tallarita and the dems. All of Troiano's political friends from Mt. Carmel are dems, so if they lose, he's in trouble

Wowser! This guy is loony tunes. His lawyer ought to take away the guys shovel (IE: Muzzle him completely and keep him in lockdown at home) before he gets to the bottom of that grave he is digging.

This charade just becomes more unbelievable. Were it not for the fact that real lives were at stake, it would be outright comical.

There's no way that Tallarita's gonna run for reelection after this. We'll get creamed. I know that even many Tallarita loyalists are against letting him run again.

Same thing with DiPace. If we nominate him for council we're dead ducks. The whole campaign will be nothing but questions about the Montessori lawsuits. It will make the property revals seem easy.

Supposedly, Tallarita's thinking of stepping down. I hear it might be as soon as the next council meeting.

Some of the dems, including me, don't want to see Hillinski succeed Tallarita because he's too much of a Tallarita crony. Pat picked Ken for Deputy Mayor because he didn't want to be overshadowed. Ken has been a good lackey. But good lackeys don't necessarily make good leaders. That was Ken's mistake. He thought he could ride Pat's coattails to power but instead ended up riding them down the highway to hell.

If Pat resigns he would be less news worthy but knowing how he is he would rather drag his family through the mud then step down.

Trust me, the former chief was nothing but a dunderhead. His leaving was the best thing that ever happened to the police department.

As I read all of the travesties that are occuring in Enfield, I ask myself some questions. "What is the Town Attorney doing with all this?" What is the State's Attorney reaction to all this?" "What is the Town Council's reaction to the Enfield Police Chief and the Mayor?" Does silence indicate guilt or innocence?

LUV THAT TERM, "Spend-ocrats"! That's exactly what the Enfield Democrats are. Spend, spend, spend. Why? Because they can. Do they think they're playing with Monopoly money here? I'd love to see their personal household budgets.

People better come to their senses and vote these jokers out in November before we're all broke.
