>>"Shanley is a fountain of information,
Oh, I bet he is after 10 years in Enfield. Probably why Mayor Pat was so set to run him out of Enfield (wasn't Shanley paid by Enfield for like another 6 months, and by then he already had the Manchester's Town Manager job. Who looks smarter, him or Mayor T??)
No wonder another town scoop him up so quickly. Now Enfield has a town manager who's friendly, but defaulting on his mortgage and being foreclosed on? Who would you prefer to be running your town?

How embarrassing for Enfielders that this guy is "managing" Town of Enfield's daily operations now? Obviously he can't handle his personal business, so I don't care how accessible or nice he may be. Plus, isn't he commanding a sizable salary from Enfield? So why can't he pay his NY mortgage? If need be, get a 2nd part-time job.
Makes me very uncomfortable that someone who would lose their home, is now in charge of Enfield's operations. What kind of example does that set?
Just when ya think the Enfield "saga" can't get more absurd, ya see something like this. Unreal.

>> the banks position until yesterday. Maybe they were caught between a rock and a hard place so they sacrificed their reputation to get the mortgage payment up to date?
There are legal recourses for a bank to take when someone is behind in their payments. Its certainly not ethical for a bank to just blab about anyone's finances. If this bank would stoop to such levels, I don't want anything to do with them. Its unprofessionaland unethical. No excuse for it.

> Vulnerable, Is Coppler Being Used As A Pawn By Those Who Dispatched His Predecessor?
Being used? Sorry, but don't feel too sorry for an experienced Town Manager, making over 100K (that's a lot more than most Enfield residents make) who can't keep up with his mortgage payments. Ya know the saying, "sleep withdogs, and you get fleas".
Taxpayers of Enfield are scrambling now to deal with the recent property tax increases, and their Town Manager isn't paying his NY taxes. Talk about a hypocrite. Who was on the search committee that recommended this guy? They should resign.

>> it's easy to see who the good ones are.You should also know that the minutes are not verbatum. They are summarized and are a poor reflection of what is really happening at meetings.
What I don't understand is how all the "good ones" have stood by and permitted all this crap to happen. Don't they have some obligation to do something about this? And committee minutes should not be a poor reflections of what occurs. If so, get a new secretary, or a better means to capture the proceedings. Cuz the meeting minutes are all some people have to go by.

Gets better than that. While Enfield paid Shanley for 6 months, after they forced him to resign, the mayor put his friend, the Town Attorney, into an "acting" town manager position at like $1,000 a week. And he worked "this" as a part time job until Coppler was hired.
So Enfield taxpayers shelled out a lot of $$$ for mayor's questionable decision to force out Shanley. I, for one, would love to know what Shanley knows about the seedy political underbelly of Enfield that cost him his job. Though he's far better off in Manchester. Don't see any references to Manchester in this blog.
The Cool Justice Report exposes wrongdoing in the politically-charged worlds of cops and courts.
HAVEN'T THE PEOPLE OF ENFIELD GOTTEN IT YET??? Do you see any other Town under fire on this blog? The answer is seldom.
Now, to add to the last comment, the Town Manager used to also be the Public Safety Official. After the Town Attorney served as "acting" Town Manager and was replaced by the current Town Manager, the job of Public Safety Officer was removed from the Town Manager's job description, and given to the Town Attorney as an additional paid position for the Town Attorney.
I'm sure you've seen the Town Attorney in this Enfield PD get up.
But back to the point, why are Enfield Taxpayer's putting up with the shenanigans going on in this Town.
And get ready, for our enjoyment, Enfield P & Z Meets this Thursday. Get ready for another charade by DiPace and Company. Trouble is, what's going on Thursday night might not affect may. And when on with the Sister's didn't effect many. And what was going on with the Enfield Fed tax abatement would have had a big effect all of us too much. But it is the collective conduct of our Town Officials that is having a huge effect on our Town. And I think the Godfather syndrome is not far fetched.

Isn't this the same Town Attorney who presided over Enfield's losing argument in the Argenta case? Wouldn't this seem to indicate that being Town Attorney AND Public Safety Director has left him stretched too thin. If not, it makes me question his competency as a lawyer, especially one who's supposed to represent Enfield.
Didn't Bromson also preside over the outsourcing of the P&Z suits to expensive Hartford law firms. Why didn't P&Z have to go to binding arbitration like Argenta got to?
And how pathetic that case was! Only in Connecticut, can a pot-smoking police dispatcher get fired and use have his union force the town to take him back. I generally want to like unions, but those kind of interventions do nothing but create bad PR. because twenty years of recreational pot use was an "addiction". I can't trust this guy to take my calls if I'm calling to report drug activity.
But Bromson is close to Tallarita. He was at Tallarita's HQ and victory party in '05. Clearly, he throws ethics and non-partisansip to the four winds. But he was definitely one of the players in on screwing the nuns.
I HAVE ACCOUNTS WITH ENFIELD FEDERAL AND I THINK THE TAX BREAK HAS GOT TO GO. WHATEVER THE REASON THE COUNCIL IS DELAYING THIS THE TOWN RESIDENTS WANT IT GONE. COUNCILMEN WE ARE WATCHING SO STOP THIS AND STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND DO THE RIGHT THING.
