not sure where DiPace stands, but here's Brian Peruta's JI letter-to-editor,

"Message is clear for Enfield BOE
To Enfield's Board of Education:
I hope you're paying attention. You've heard loud and clear from your constituents on several occasions what your mission is this year, "Do what you by vote were entrusted to do and put our school system and children in a position to succeed."
Our children and Enfield's future really do depend on you actions. You see the investment you make today pays off down the road when our children are educated and responsible taxpaying members of our community. Mistakes now will only multiply costs for Enfield later. Don't be shortsighted.
In years past we've been disappointed to see 100 or fewer residents attend the yearly budget public hearing. This year nearly 200 people attended a Community Conversation! Almost 180 people attended the regular Board meeting this week! Your constituents are motivated. Their message is clear and they're demanding action. If you have any doubt about what's expected by the people who put you in office, then you haven't been listening.
To those in the Republican majority on the Board:
The treatment teachers received in the press from those representing your town committee is an embarrassment. Opinions are great and debate is welcomed. But what we saw in the papers was terrible and insulting. Take responsibility here and make it stop. It does no one any good.
Last night several of you made it plain that there was a clear delineation between you and those on your own town committee who seem intent on driving wedges between you and the people you need most to make this process work. Stand behind your statements and stop this counterproductive behavior. This is from your committee and you're more together than I'm led to believe.
Last, I would like to request that the Board of Education start regularly attending Town Council meetings and during public communications share what they're hearing and doing. I've seen Councilman Kiner at several Board meetings. Clearly he's engaged and concerned. More need to see what he's seeing. Personally I think public updates at each Council meeting will make this entire process more transparent. As a former councilman, I wish we took this approach years ago.
Good luck and Godspeed.

ain't hindsight a wonderful thing? Peruta needs to keep in mind that he is indeed a "former councilman". that he wasn't reelected. that speaks volumes as to how residents feel he performed his duties.
DiPace or Peruta? Who really cares?
Its not like they're god's gift to the residents of Enfield.
Let's change the subject to something more important. OK?
Has Peruta cut a deal with the union? $ure $eem$ like it.

I just read the article and wasn't that his point? Seemed so to me but thanks for stating the obvious, again.
"Opinions are great and debate is welcomed. But what we saw in the papers was terrible and insulting. Take responsibility here and make it stop."
So some free speech is more equal than other free speech?
Just like, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
Apparently, Peruta believes in democracy for some, but not for all.
Anyone scared about putting this guy in charge? You think he won't send Boxer to the glue factory?

Maybe Brislin had a point about silencing free speech.
What's wrong with this picture?
I see now that another Enfield, "former", Ken Hilinski, has joined the JI "letter-to'editor" ranks along with Peruta. Guess these "formers" have little to do with their time now, but write letters urging the Republicans to stop the BOE audit.
Do these guys think residents are blind. Of course they want the BOE audit process to cease since should
the new majority find areas to save taxpayers $$$, these "formers" will
look even more foolish than they already did when the Spend-o-crats lost in Nov.
So keep those letters comin' there, Mr "Formers". It just helps to reaffirm why it was you weren't reelected.
Speaking of Enfield BOE, what the heck is going on with Enfield BOE these days. Are they just deliberately going out of their way to tick people off? Are they doing this stuff to see if anyone is paying attention? I don't understand their motives?
How can this group not realize how important it is to Enfield students to have their high school graduations @ their respective high schools. Student don't want this ceremony at some church, 30 minutes away.

"Enfield High School's principal and five seniors made a case Tuesday to the Board of Education to hold this year's graduation on the school's grounds, not at First Cathedral in Bloomfield."
And now to top it all off, this same BOE has voted to eliminate
the students' February Break? How much $$$ is saved every February by shutting down the schools? I would guess far more than what's spent in mid-June (most schools aren't ACed)
http://www.journalinquirer.com/site/index.cfm?newsid=19341891&BRD=985&PAG=461&dept_id=569380&rfi=8
"The Board of Education voted 6-3 Tuesday to eliminate the February vacation from the calendar for the next school year despite concern by school nurses about the spread of winter illnesses."
I give up? Is this BOE just going out of their way to buck the system, to get people thinking? How are their recent recommendations "helping" students?
Someone, anyone, please explain the logic behind these moves?
