CtNewsJunkie: Krayeske Wants Rell To Tell Her Side Of The Story

Krayeske’s lawyer Houston Putnam Lowry argued in court documents last week that Rell had firsthand knowledge of the events, which led to Krayeske’s false arrest as he snapped photos of the governor along the parade route on January 3, 2007. The series of photos Krayeske took that day have become part of the court record.

    East Haven Police Chief
    Subpoenaed To Testify
    Before Freedom of Information Commission

Sunday, November 21, 2010: New Haven, Conn.:
Former East Haven Police Chief Leonard Gallo is under subpoena to testify before the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission (FOIC) at a Monday morning hearing regarding the East Haven Police Department’s (EHPD) failure to comply with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

The request -- filed March 11, 2010 by St. Rose of Lima Church (St. Rose) and Apostle Immigrant Services (AIS) -- sought numerous documents, including those related to how the department investigates claims of ethnic profiling and police abuse.

Eight months later, the police department has failed to provide many documents requested in the original March 11 request.

Gallo is expected to testify about his knowledge of documents pertaining to the ongoing United States Department of Justice investigation into the EHPD along with other items relevant to the March 11 request. St. Rose and AIS served Gallo with a subpoena last week. Lieutenant Joseph Slane, who handles EHPD records, is also under subpoena to testify and is expected to explain why the department has still failed to fully comply with the request.

The Commission has the statutory power both to compel the East Haven Police Department to produce information and to impose civil penalties for noncompliance.

The hearing will be the second time this year that EHPD personnel have appeared before the Commission for non-compliance with FOIA requests. In an April 28, 2010 order, the Commission found that the EHPD had violated the Freedom of Information Act by failing to disclose documents regarding use of tasers and pepper spray and by failing to conduct a diligent search for the disciplinary files of a number of individual East Haven police officers. St. Rose and AIS are represented in this matter by the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization at Yale Law School.

The hearing will be held at 11:00am in the FOIC’s Hearing Room A, located at 18-20 Trinity Street in Hartford. The hearing is open to the public.

Do advertisers believe that your paper works for them?

Do you quantify the value of your readership; differentiate your paper from the competition? Do you give them a good or compelling reason to advertise? Do you show them how your publication would be good for their business and help them prosper? Are you offering third party evidence and research to make your case? Are you offering accounts things that are good for them?

Guv Rell Key Witness In False Arrest

    Hartford Courant:

Political activist and freelance journalist Ken Krayeske filed a motion in federal court Friday in his effort to question Gov. M. Jodi Rell under oath as part of his lawsuit against a Hartford police officer who arrested him at Rell's inauguration parade in January 2007.

"Governor Rell's first-hand knowledge of her experience at the parade will corroborate Plaintiff Krayeske's claim that he did not enter the parade route, and that the false arrest was a result of his protected speech activities," Krayeske's lawyer, Houston Putnam Lowry, said in the motion.

Krayeske was arrested Jan. 3, 2007, as he took pictures of Rell during her inauguration parade following her victory in the 2006 gubernatorial election. Charged with breach of peace and interfering with police, Krayeske was held 12 hours on $75,000 bail, then released after it was too late to lead a protest outside Rell's inaugural ball.

The charges were dropped later. Krayeske, of Hartford, acted as campaign director in 2006 for Green Party gubernatorial candidate Cliff Thornton. Krayeske was the party's candidate this year for the 1st District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Democratic U.S. Rep. John Larson won re-election.

Rich, pathological fiend Tom Foley, declaring "Private Armies Will Bring Improved Productivity And Efficiency To Connecticut," announced today that Eric Prince will be the new commissioner of state police.

"I know Eric, he did a great job in Iraq and I know he will bring his core values to Connecticut as we remake the state on behalf of the top one percent of the population," Foley said. "The unions will know now that it's time to get out of town."

Prince, speaking via video remote from Abu Dhabi, said, "It's a done deal. I'm already working with Mark Boughton to rid Danbury of all immigrants. Bridgeport, watch out."

Boughton, who recently began a bid for the 5th congressional district seat in 2012, said he would work with Foley to maintain some government role in the state police by strengthening their ties with ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement - arm of Homeland Security).

State of CT Forces Them To Wear GPS Devices

Gould now lives in New Haven, and Taylor in Cheshire, but they are forced to wear GPS devices around their ankles and are forbidden to leave the state. Asked why, attorney Tsimbidaros said he is unsure.

"Call the state's attorney's office," he said. "They wanted to keep them in prison (until) the time of their appeal."

Laws drafted by Bush’s Iraq czar, Paul Bremer, and unveiled Sept. 21, allow foreign investors to own 100 percent of any Iraqi assets and to remit profits and royalties when they choose.

A key adviser to Bremer is Wall Street investor, Tom Foley, a generous Bush contributor. He cooked up a scheme to invite 14 Eastern European finance officials to Baghdad to give advice about privatization. They included the notorious Yegor Gaidor, who presided over the Russian mass privatizations of the early 1990s, Moscow News reports.
